The Ultimate Guide to Your LIR to Tamarindo Shuttle: Everything You Need to Know

Tamarindo is a popular first stop after landing at Liberia Guanacaste Airport (LIR). The transfer is usually around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic, weather, and the exact hotel address. Book your ride before arrival so you know which service you have, where to meet, and what is included.

Choose private or shared transportation

A private transfer reserves a vehicle for your party. It can be scheduled around your flight, travels directly to your hotel or rental, and gives families or groups room to plan for luggage, car seats, and surfboards. We monitor the arrival flight and coordinate pickup if it is delayed.

A shared shuttle follows a scheduled departure, may carry other travelers, and can include other stops. Availability and pickup time must be confirmed for your travel date; shared departures require a minimum of two passengers. If the minimum is not reached, we offer the available private option or arrange the applicable refund.

Where to meet at LIR

For a private transfer, collect your bags and exit to the outside waiting area. Look for our representative with the passenger name on a sign. For a confirmed shared departure, follow the instructions in your booking confirmation; our usual shared meeting point is the Restaurant Imperial bench near the main entrance. Contact us if you cannot locate the representative.

What to send when requesting a quote

Share your travel date, airline, flight number, arrival time, passenger count, Tamarindo hotel or exact address, and whether the ride is one way or round trip. Mention children’s seats, surfboards, golf bags, or oversized luggage. We can then propose the right vehicle and show any equipment fee before you confirm.

Returning from Tamarindo to the airport

Tell us your departure flight and preferred airport arrival time so we can recommend a hotel pickup that allows for the drive and airport check-in. Pickup times vary with traffic and flight schedules; confirm the final time in your reservation.
