Statement by the Costa Rica Tourism Board
As of August 1, international passenger flights are authorized to arrive at Costa Rica’s three international airports: Juan Santamaría International Airport; Daniel Oduber Quirós Airport; and Tobías Bolaños Airport.
The following are the authorized regions or countries:
THE EUROPEAN UNION, SCHENGEN ZONE, AND THE UNITED KINGDOM: for flights from the European Union, the Schengen Zone, and the United Kingdom, for citizens and residents of the European Union, the Schengen Zone, and the United Kingdom.
CANADA: for flights from Canada, for citizens and residents of Canada, and for residents of the European Union, the Schengen Zone, and the United Kingdom.
South Korea - Singapore - China - Australia - New Zealand - Uruguay - Japan - Thailand
On September 1st 2020 Travelers From The Following States In The USA Can Travel To Costa Rica
New York - New Jersey -Maine - Connecticut - New Hampshire - Vermont - Maryland - Virginia - Washington DC
On September 15Th 2020 Travelers From The Following States In The USA Can Travel To Costa Rica
Pennsylvania - Massachusetts - Colorado - Washington State -Oregon - Wyoming - Arizona -New Mexico - Michigan - Rhode Island
On October 1st 2020 Travelers From The Following States And Countries Can Travel To Costa Rica
Ohio USA - California USA - Mexico - Jamaica
On October 15Th 2020 Travelers From The Following States Can Travel To Costa Rica
Texas USA - Florida USA - Georgia USA
After November 1st 2020 Anyone From Anywhere Can Travel To The Country
The requirements are as follows:
Having taken the PCR diagnostic test and obtained a negative result within 72 hours of travel to Costa Rica After October 26Th 2020 This Test Will Not Be Require To Travel To The Country
Have mandatory travel insurance, covering lodging in the event of being quarantined and medical expenses due to acute illness.
Fill out the epidemiological digital form.
Passengers who do not comply with these requirements will not be allowed to board the flight.
Travelers From The USA Will Need A Driver License Or ID To Prove They Live On Any Of The States Allowed To Travel To Costa Rica
Upon landing in Costa Rican territory, travelers must wear face protection and comply with the strict protocols of the air terminal with regard to physical distancing, disinfection of carpets, and taking temperature readings, and must follow any other sanitary instructions.
